Erika Miranda is a Mexican-Norwegian filmmaker (producer, director and actor). She received her BFA in Acting from The Theater School at DePaul University in Chicago, Illinois, and has pursued additional training from institutions such as the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art and Upright Citizens Brigade. Her theater credits extend from Chicago to LA to Atlanta. In 2020, she founded Cafecito Productions, an incubative production company in Atlanta, GA. Her first film, Mi Casa, can be found on all HBO platforms. Her second film, Sweetie, was a part of Give Me An A anthology produced by Tasha Halevi, and can be viewed on all VOD platforms. Films produced by Cafecito Productions have been screened at Cleveland International Film Festival, Palm Springs International ShortFest, Cucalorus Film Festival, Cordillera Film Festival and more. Trailer [Trash] Magic, Erika's current film, won the GA Film Impact Grant, giving her the ability to shoot the proof of concept for the series which she is currently leading through development.

Erika started her career as an actress, but founded Cafecito Productions and began to produce her own work when she realized the world had set boxes for her because of who she was and what she looked like, only to discover she didn’t fit any of them.  Since 2020 Cafecito Productions has told stories and created experiences for actors and crew members that break the box that was created for them, and not by them. Inspired by her theater background, Erika invites her teams to create boldly and authentically in a synergetic space that prioritizes process. Throughout the year, Erika as the Executive Producer of SheATL Arts works with up and coming playwrights to develop and produce their full length play or musical, some of which have been developed into screenplays.
